Digital Citizen Identity

Digital public services require reliable identity proofing services that are trusted by the general public. TrustGrid™ provides a platform for citizens and organizations to carry out transactions through the digital medium in a safe and verifiable way, supporting various scenarios deployed in modern digital economies.

Foundation for the Digital
Identity Services

As all economic and social activity is shifting to the digital world, it has become clear that current identity practices are not sustainable. People must register on numerous online platforms and portals and trust various parties to store their personal data, hoping that their privacy will not be compromised. But the regularity of data leaks and privacy breaches proves that people are right to question whether their sensitive data is being properly secured.

At the same time, organizations have to work hard to verify the identities of their consumers and ensure that they can trust all transactions. With our TrustGrid™ ecosystem, we are working to solve these challenges. Our digital identity services are based on the following principles:

Distributed Identity
Ecosystem

Identity is the combination of all attributes and properties that uniquely describe a human being. We truly believe that these attributes should be controlled by their owners — citizens. TrustGrid™ provides a distributed identity ecosystem, where a verified digital identity is used to support various identity representations.

Support for Citizen Personas

As identity data is added to the TrustGrid™, it can be used anywhere, from government public services to the fintech industry. The network connects both public and private sector institutions. Verified digital identities can be used as the foundation of innovative identity-based services. Citizens can create their own representations of their data (personas), managing identity disclosures and consents within the consortium’s boundaries.

How it Works

Digital Identity Constitution is established

Initially, a consortium network is created, and new identity service is activated. Consortium members agree on policies and identity attributes that constitute the new identity service.

  • Create a new consortium network
  • Invite consortium members
  • Define policies regulating the constitution of citizen identity.

Identity Workflows are Defined

As the next step, the consortium members can create identity workflows, defining various identity representations, and establish privacy and confidentiality policies for the network.

  • Create identity workflows
  • Define new credentials (identity representations)
  • Create rules to enforce privacy, confidentiality and citizen consent
  • Publish the identity service to make it available for everyone.

Citizen Enrolment

People enrol in the service and opt-in for their digital identity representations.

  • The flexible and customisable enrolment process
  • iOS and Android mobile apps
  • People can subscribe through a QR code scan

Digital Credentials Are Available for Use

Digital identity representations can be used in various contexts based on the defined privacy and confidentiality policies.

  • Age Verification
  • Know Your Customer
  • Background Check

Frequently Asked Questions

TrustGrid™ is a global subscription-based service available for everyone to use. It can be used by government agencies working on digital identity programs and private organizations looking forward to establishing their own digital identity ecosystems.

TrustGrid™ supports a distributed consortium model, where multiple member organizations agree on privacy and confidentiality policies attached to digital identities. It is possible to use a single-member consortium for a federated (centralized) model, which can be later extended to a distributed model if needed.

Consortium members can propose changes to the network constitution and initiate a voting protocol for other members to accept or deny the changes. TrustGrid™ facilitates member communication through the SaaS Portal and allows members to track all changes into the network.

TrustGrid™ encrypts all citizen data and uses the Confidential Compute model to ensure that the data can be accessed only through explicit user consent within the consortium members’ policies. All identity transactions are completely private and cannot be accessed by third parties or network operators without an owner’s explicit permission.
TrustGrid ™ relies on the Confidential Compute (Trusted Execution Environment) technology to execute secure transactions in untrusted environments. The technology deploys protected enclaves for identity workflows and provides strong data protection to all identity transactions.

TrustGrid™ can be deployed as a Lite instance (suitable for pre-production integration) or as an Enterprise instance with full support of Confidential Computing. Please refer to our Pricing page for more details.

TrustGrid™ is available as a SaaS service and can be deployed in a public cloud through our SaaS Portal. The deployment is fully automated, and the system is ready to use once it is deployed.

TrustGrid™ is supplied with mobile applications suitable for various use cases. Please open a request below if you would like to customize the applications, add your own branding or integrate the applications with your backend systems.
